Monday 20 May 2024 is International Behçet’s Awareness Day

Do you have any plans for this year’s #InternationalBehcetsAwarenessDay on Monday 20 May?

It’s not too late to get involved. Here are a few ways you can help to raise awareness on the day…

  • We will be sharing a couple of social media posts on our Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) on the day and would really appreciate it if you could them a like, share and/or retweet to help us spread greater awareness. If you’re sharing anything on your social media pages on the day remember to use the hashtag #InternationalBehcetsAwarenessDay and tag us @BehcetsUK

  • If you work in a medical setting such as a hospital, doctors’ surgery, dental surgery or sexual health clinic, you can order some of our official awareness posters to display at your workplace. They can be laminated for long-term display. As a small charity with limited funds, we ask that you first seek permission to display the poster(s) from the setting owner/manager before you place your order to limit the cost of unnecessary orders. See the designs available and place your order.

  • If you’re planning a fundraising event for the day, we also have fundraising posters available, as well as t-shirts/sports tops for those aiming to raise at least £200. We always enjoy hearing about your fundraising plans so please drop us an email at info@behcetsuk.org to tell us about them.

  • Order an official Behçet’s enamel pin badge to wear on the day and start a conversation about Behçet’s with those around you. We have two designs available – a sparkly tulip and a round logo badge.

We also sell tote bags featuring our eye-catching ‘Rare, Complex, Lifelong’ design. See our full merchandise range and fill in the order form here.

All profits from merchandise sales go straight to Behçet’s UK to help us continue our work.

  • We will be doing another fundraiser in honour of the day over on our Instagram page with the aim to raise £500. To donate, go to our Instagram profile from your mobile phone. You will see our fundraiser at the top of our profile page. Please note the fundraiser will not be visible from a laptop or desktop computer.

Thank you everyone for your help in raising awareness and supporting Behçet’s UK!
