Changes to dermatology services at UHCW

Dermatology Services at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire
The Dermatology Council for England (DCE) along with the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) have been in discussion with University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) over the changes it is making to its dermatology services. They are challenging UHCW on their processes and the lack of consultation that has taken place. Due to Covid, the Dermatology department was moved out of its purpose-built unit on a temporary basis, the trust is now trying to make this permanent, moving the service to a number of as-yet-unspecified sites.

In order to support their case, they have engaged with the local Health and Overview Scrutiny Committee (HOSC), who have also not been consulted about the changes. In discussions with the HOSC earlier this month, they thought it would be beneficial if they could hear from patients who use the services and what their current experiences are.

If you are a patient at UHCW and have used this service recently please email us at info@behcetsuk.org and we can provide a copy of the letter from Geoff Holmes, Chair Dermatology Council for England, with more details of how to provide your feedback to HOSC
