Fabulous Fundraisers

Fundraising is the lifeblood of our Society and enables us to help and support our members to the best of our wishes and abilities.

Here are just a few of the incredible achievements of our past fundraisers – we cannot thank them enough!

  • Samantha did a skydive in April 2023 and raised £1,100!
  • Jamie and her friends did a “pyjama week” in spring 2023 raising a total of £729!
  • Amy did a tandem skydive in October 2022 and raised £950!
  • Georgina held various fundraising events to raise a total of £550!
  • Gemma took part in a tandem skydive in summer 2022 and raised £1,160!
  • Neil did a Coast 2 Coast bike ride in July 2022 and raised £2,465!
  • Ruth regularly organises a Ladies’ Ball in aid of Behçet’s UK. In 2022 she raised £1,393!
  • Laura took part in the Ride London-Essex 60 in May 2022 and raised £468!
  • Lily (aged 6) held a cake and craft stall and raised £385!
  • Cat and Chris took part in the Great North Run 2022 with Chris pushing Cat in her wheelchair and raised £808!
  • Thomas did the Three Peaks Challenge on Behçet’s Awareness Day 2022 and raised £3,227!
  • Nikkie shaved her head in honour of her daughter and raised £812!
  • Emma held various events in her workplace for Behçet’s Awareness Day 2022 and raised £420!
  • Team Tigerbond participated in Race the Thames 2022 and raised £1476!
  • Laura took part in the Brutal 5K in January 2022 and raised £805!
  • The “Behçet’s to the Beach” team raised a fantastic £10,100 from March to September 2021!
  • Jack and Thomas took part in the Great South Run in October 2021 and together raised £865!
  • Kathy designed and sold angel Christmas cards in 2021 and raised £533!
  • Danielle did a live stream fundraiser on Behçet’s Awareness Day 2021 and raised £760!
  • Steph organised a beach clean in summer 2021 and raised £435!
  • Jack took part in the Beyond Somerset Sportive challenge in 2021 and raised £185!
  • The “Bike for Behçet’s – Run for the Rare” fundraiser raised a staggering amount over 13 weeks in summer 2020. Read more here
  • Sian took part in a powerlifting competition in March 2020 with the aim of qualifying for the National Championships. Not only did she achieve this goal but she also raised £1,825!
  • Neil did a 300 mile cycle in September 2020 and raised £1,085!
  • Adam did a cycle challenge in 2020 and raised £585!
  • Gemma organised a raffle and virtual market stalls in autumn 2020 and raised £160!
  • Jodie organised a Pamper Evening at her local branch of The Body Shop and raised £670!
  • Keith took part in Movember in 2019 and grew an Inspector Clouseau style moustache to raise £640!
  • Simon completed the Prudential Ride London-Surrey bike ride in August 2019 raising £650!
  • Andrea sold handmade cards in 2019 to raise £150!
  • Corey and his mother Samantha raised £338 by organising a bake sale, selling t-shirts and encouraging donations from family and friends in 2019!
  • Mark took part in the BirminghamVelo100 bike ride raising a fantastic £500!
  • Kayleigh raised £626 by trekking to Machu Picchu with her husband Steve in summer 2019!
  • Darren ran the Bristol 10K in 2019 raising £370!
  • Ross ran the London-Brighton ultra marathon in 2019 and raised £1100!
  • The Mario Siblings took part in the Sri Lanka Rickshaw Run together raising £532!
  • Jodie bravely decided to shave off her hair on her 27th birthday, 10 years after being diagnosed with Behçet’s herself. She raised £300!
  • Darren ran the London Marathon in 2019 and raised £1450!
  • Christina held a bake sale and raised £363!
  • Hannah challenged herself to bake many of the Great British Bake Off technical challenges in 2018 and raised £200!
  • Paul organised several music events throughout 2018 raising a staggering £10,403!
  • Naomi took part in a tandem skydive from 12,000 ft. in 2017 with her husband Andy to raise money for two charities including £583 for Behçet’s UK!
  • Robyn took part in the Tough Mudder 2017 with her cousin and together they raised £730!
  • In support of William and his daughter Jenni who both have Behçet’s, Jenni and her uncle took part in the Belfast Marathon 2017 raising £550!
  • Each year for the last few years the Lee Pearcey Charity Cup football tournament has raised funds for Behçet’s UK in Lee’s memory. In 2018 they raised a brilliant £2120!
