Behçet’s Parents and Guardians Project

A close-up, slightly angled shot of a laptop screen displaying a video conference with multiple participants grid-style. A large, textured ceramic coffee mug sits in the sharp foreground on the left. The background is softly blurred, showing a table surface and a potted plant under warm, ambient lighting.

If you have a child aged 18 or under who is living with Behçet’s or going through the diagnostic process, we would love to hear from you.

Following the success of the children and young people’s project Bearing Behçet’s, Behçet’s UK are once again teaming up with Katja Stiller, Therapeutic Arts Facilitator at Breathe Creative, to explore the experiences of parents and guardians to co-create meaningful resources. You do not need any art background to take part, but there will be encouragement to be creative!

Katja will facilitate a safe, reflective space for you to explore what it has meant to navigate your child’s health, educational, and social needs while also trying to maintain your own. You may have had to adapt working hours or change career paths, reorganise your home to manage medications, attend multiple hospital appointments, develop healthcare plans for school, or try to understand Behçet’s Disease with very little child-specific information available. Through the workshops, we will explore these experiences together and develop resources that you feel would genuinely support other parents and guardians like you.

The project will commence in September 2026 and workshops will take place on Zoom. Spaces are limited, so please register your interest for a chance to be involved in this exciting project.

To register your interest in taking part in the project please complete the online registration form below, by 9th August 2026.
