This Sunday 28th February will be Rare Disease Day 2021. It’s a great opportunity to spread awareness of Behçet’s and other rare conditions across social media.
Here are a few ways you can help:
- Download our diagram of Behçet’s symptoms which includes the phrase “I have Behçet’s. I may not always look ill but that doesn’t mean I’m not struggling with my symptoms” and share it on your social media pages. There are versions available to download that are the correct image sizes for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
- We’ll be sharing some quotes from our recent ‘Your Behçet’s Stories’ interviews with Behçet’s patients, so if you are able to share/like/retweet a quote or two, we would be really grateful.
- Share something about your own experience of Behçet’s on your social media. It could be a video, image, blog post or just a sentence or two to describe your experiences.
- When sharing anything on social media for Rare Disease Day, try to remember to tag us @BehcetsUK so that we see your posts. If you use Twitter we’ll retweet some of them on the day or if you use Instagram, we’ll add some to our Stories.
- There are also official Rare Disease Day hashtags that have been created by Rare Disease UK and Genetic Alliance, which are #RareDiseaseDay2021 #RareReach2021 #RareReality #RareDiseaseDay #RareisMany #RareisStrong #RareisProud and #ShowMeYourRare You can use just one or as many of these hashtags as you like.
- Share the official Rare Disease Day images on your social media which you can find at https://www.raredisease.org.uk/get-involved/ There are also other suggestions there by Rare Disease UK about how to get involved.
