Are you a child or young person living with Behçet’s disease?
We’d like to hear from you!
Children & Young People 2025 – Living with Behçet’s
Saturday 5 July 2025 – Online
Behçet’s UK has been awarded a grant from BAD (British Association of Dermatology) to produce resources for children and young people living with Behçet’s.
Rachael Humphreys, Trustee of Behçet’s UK, and Dr Clare Pain, Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital will be working with Breathe Creative and young people to co-create these resources.
On Saturday 5th July 2025, from 10am, Rachael will be holding online sessions with Katja Stiller, Arts Facilitator and trained Counsellor from Breathe Creative. We would love to hear about your experience of diagnosis and beyond, and what resources would have been helpful to you (or would still be helpful).
If you would like to develop your ideas further, we will be holding online workshops from September to create the resources you think would be useful. You do not need to be artistic to take part, your voice and experience will guide the project forward and the creativity will follow!
We are looking for children and young people to get involved who are aged from 7 years up to 24 years, living in the UK and who had a confirmed diagnosis of Behçet’s before they turned 18. Parents are also welcome to join younger children at the sessions.
Click on the button below to register your interest in taking part by 10am on Thursday 3 July 2025. Children and young people will receive a £5 Amazon voucher for taking part.
Register by 10am on Thursday 3 July 2025

What is the purpose of the project?
To create resources to support children, young people, and their families, and to understand what we can do to help children and young people with Behçet’s.
Who is funding the project?
The project is funded by Behçet’s UK and the British Association of Dermatologists. Synergy Medical will also be providing their expertise on a pro-bono basis to create materials such as animation and wellbeing booklets.
Who can take part?
Any child or young person aged 7 – 24 years old living in the UK with a confirmed Behçet’s diagnosis. If under 18 the parent or guardian must submit the form to take part.
Do I need to be artistic to take part?
Not at all, your voice and experience will guide the project forward, and the creativity will naturally evolve; there is no right or wrong way.
When will I know if I am (or my child is) taking part?
We will contact you via email from info@behcetsuk.org within 5 working days of registering and before 5pm on Thursday 3 July 2025. We hope to be able to accommodate everyone interested in taking part who meets the criteria. Please check your spam folder if you haven’t received our email..
I am a parent/guardian. Can I attend the session?
Parents are welcome to join the session if your child would like you to, especially for children under 12 and under. Please discuss this with your child and let us know if you will be attending the session.
Who will the sessions be with?
The sessions will be run by Rachael from Behçet’s UK and Katja from Breathe Creative. On the registration form you can choose whether you/your child would prefer an individual session with just Rachael and Katja or prefer a session with other children or young people of a similar age with Rachael and Katja. Please note that we can only offer group sessions if there are enough children and young people interested.
